(RLHP) Rural Literacy and Health Programme

Each year we provide scholarships for college education for young people, from poor families, who have passed 10th grade, giving an opportunity for better jobs.

Installed sanitation and planted fruit trees in new housing settlements.

We support supplementary schools in slum communitites helping children reach their potential and pass their exams.

We have provided 48 libraries in Mysore schools in poor areas.

We support abandoned children cared for at two community homes.

Emmanuel Blind Relief Society

Eye tests, cataract operations, provision of spectacles and eye ointments to prevent infection leading to blindness, helping over 6,000 people.

Help to tribal communities in the Nilgiris and Coorg

We have given substantial help to tribal communities including funding a school, building a maternity wing in a hospital. And together with our parent charity, Charities Advisory Trust have given over 10,000 chickens and nearly 300 cows to provide livelihoods and much needed nutrition.

SVA

We provided livestock (sheep, goats and ducks) to poor communities in Orissa/ Odisha.

We gave substantial funding to Keystone to set up the Bee Museum at Ooty.

We provided a toilet block for Mysore Association for Mental Handicaps sheltered workshop.

Mango trees

We funded the planting of over 1,000 mango trees on very poor quality land, granted to landless Dalit communities. The land has no water, but if planted just before the monsoon, the trees can survive and produce a ‘mini climate’.

To preserve the Shola Forest habitat of the Indian tiger.
